Thanksgiving continued . . .

Nikki made a huge Thanksgiving meal for us and it was amazing! We enjoyed spending the afternoon with her and her American-obsessed host family in Frauenfeld. ;-) It truly was a wonderful Thanksgiving away from home! Her family was so welcoming and we enjoyed being far out in the snow covered country checking out all the Americana the dad had collected over the years like mint condition jukeboxes and 5 cent coke machines!!!

Miriam and me carving the turkey. His name was Tom . . . may he rest in peace!

There was a lot of food and it was superb!

I think the turkey chemicals went to our heads!

Haha, it was a huge mess to clean up, but so worth it. ;-)

After being at Nikki's we met some more people in Kusnacht for Ethan's house-warming party! And it was sooo much fun! He had arranged a hike in the woods with candles and lanterns and where once we arrived to "the spot" his roomate played the guitar and we consumed marvelous warm punch around the fire and looked at the lovely Zurichsee by night. Then it was off to his new dwelling where we chated, drank, and ate to our heart's content. :-D

Thanksgiving weekend continued . . .

Cooking at Jurgen's! T'was a yummy oriental chicken dish!
Jurgen tells Miriam . . . "You can open a coconut by pressing on the brown circles!"
On Friday a few of us traveled to Jurgen's apartment near ETH, the university in Zurich, for supper and to cut Oliver's hair! Oliver told Miriam she could cut his hair if she watched a "how-to" video on youtube. Haha . . . so she started and let's just say it was a good thing I knew how to do hair-cutting, even just a little bit. I helped guide her and did a few bits of it and it turned out okay, but the other guys decided to keep their long locks. ;-)
He had a lovely supper together and then took a walk around the city and wandered into the HB to look at the new Christmas tree, covered in crystals!!! Then t'was out for a couple of drinks and then home early to be ready for a marvelous meal in Frauenfeld on Saturday!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend!!

Thanksgiving day the kiddos and I spent the day riding rides and playing games at the UsterMarkt and wandered around the shopping center of Uster and enjoyed making cookies and being silly. A great day all around!
