Well, I thought I'd post about my trip to Interlaken with the aupairs before two weekends past by. :-) It is like 2 am but I am not really tired. :-P
On Saturday morning we all met in Zurich at 10am and hopped on the train to get to our destination. Our first stop was in _(will insert name when I find out)_ to see the monestary there. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I couldn't take any pictures inside (was so much prettier than the Dom in Trier, WOW!), but I took some pictures of the outside. While there we were able to experience a service and they said the 43 Psalm which was so awesome to listen to in German!! Someday I want to be able to read the bible in Luther's language. :-) Just hearing the rhythm was so special. :-)
After that we took a few more trains via Luzern (the were having a yodeling festival there) to arrive at our destination. Once in Interlaken Ost we rook a walk and just rambled waiting for another aupair to meet up with us. :-) While walking we found this nice little park area by a Church and opened a bottle of white wine and had a bit and just talked for about an hour. Once the other aupair came we all took the bus to the barn where we were going to spend the night.
Another aupair, who is fro Canada and speaks French, was able to communicate with our host and after settleing in we took a walk around the small village which was so adorable! We found a part and played. There was this HUGE chess game with huge pieces and Lacey and Mckensie played while a german gentleman came by to watch while Mckensie xplained the game to him in German. In turn we watched him play this game I'd never seen before.
We then had our hilarious adventure sleeping in the barn, which was so insane, but with wine, chocolate, snacks, lots of laughter and various quotes from movies and books we had a great time. "Having a bit wine for enjoyment is far less sinful than meddeling in other people's affairs!!!" <-- Marilla Cuthbert from Anne of Green Gables! We then discussed how popular that red-headed snippet was all over the world. :-D
Upon waking the delightful smell of cow manure about knocked us out while I am sure I swallowed my year's allotment of spiders in one night. We had a small but yummy breakfast provided by our host, payed for our night (25fr.) and then went on to Gimmelwald by trains, buses, and skylift things. Had a long but fun hike. Took great pictures. And then went to this other place Timmelback? Which had beautiful indoor waterfalls!
After that we all went home, some of us via Bern and enjoyed the last Euro games between Germany and Spain. Spain won 3-0. In two years twill be the World Cup. Doubt I'll still be here, ya never know, but it was awesome to be able to experience a HUGE European sport. ;-)
