A couple of Sunday's ago, Lindsay, Miriam, and myself went to IPC for the free Handel's Messiah sing-along concert!!! Oh it was amazing! They had a few singers from the Zurich Opera House singing the pieces, truly mesmerizing! We had such a great time and then went out for coffee afterwards!

A beautiful German Hymn!

Was mein Gott will, das g'scheh' allzeit,
Sein Will', der ist der beste;
Zu helfen den'n er ist bereit,
Die an ihn glauben feste;
Er hilft aus Not, der fromme Gott,
Und züchtiget mit Massen,
Wer Gott vertraut, fest auf ihn baut,
Den will er nicht verlaßen.
What my God wants , may it always happen, His will is what is best. He is ready to help those who believe firmly in him He helps us in our poverty, the holy God, and punishes us in moderation who places his trust in God and builds firmly on him, he will not abandon.
Gott ist mein Trost, mein' Zuversicht,
Mein' Hoffnung und mein Leben.
Was mein Gott will, daß mir geschicht,
Will ich nicht widerstreben.
Sein Wort ist wahr, denn all mein
Haar Er selber hat gezählet.
Er hüt't und wacht und hat wohl acht,
Auf daß uns gar nichts fehlet.

God is my comfort, my confidence, my hope and my life.What my God wants to happen to me I do not want to strive against. His word is true, for all my hair he himself has counted He guards and watches and has taken good care that we should lack nothing.

Nun, muß ich Sünd'r von dieser Welt
Hinfahr'n in Gottes Willen
Zu meinem Gott: wann's ihm gefällt,
Will ich ihm halten stille.
Mein' arme Seel' ich Gott befehl'In meiner letzten Stunden.
Du frommer Gott, Sünd, Höll' und Tod
Hast du mir überwunden.

Now must I, a sinner from this world, go hence in God's will to my God: when it pleases him, I want to hold still with him. I entrust my poor soul to God in my last hours.You holy God have overcome for me sin, hell and death.

Noch eins, Herr, will ich bitten dich,
Du wirst mir's nicht versagen:
Wenn mich der böse Geist anficht,Laß mich, Herr, nicht verzagen;
Hilf, steur und wehr, ach Gott, mein Herr,
Zu Ehren deinem Namen!
Wer das begehrt, dem wird's gewährt.
Drauf sprech' ich fröhlich: Amen.
Just one thing, Lord, I want to ask you,: you will not deny it to me: when the evil spirit tempts me, let me not despair. Help, guide and protect, ah God, my Lord,to the honour of your name.
Who desires this will have his wish granted; for this reason I say joyfully: Amen

Pictures of Home

Bubby with his guitar!

Sitting on the front porch . . . this is the view one just soaks in . . .

I was SO proud of momma! The kiddos had chicken pox while I was home and some friends came over to get their children to hopefully absorb the virus and have chicken pox as well. However, when they were leaving accidentely ran over one of the little kittens. :-( And as the vet was going to put down the kitten and paps told momma to see if she could fix it otherwise he would take care of it and next thing we new . . . she was "googleing" how to put in stiches. I was amazed! O_O So, momma started administering the vodka with a medicine drop into the kitten's mouth. Haha! Paps put on work gloves and held down the cat's head and front legs, while I held the back legs and momma poured peroxide on the wound several times. Took a match to burn the needle (just a sewing needle) and cleaned that, and then started to stich up the kitten. I was crying and trying to help, which I don't think I did much, but momma was so calm and collected. No way in the world I could have done that . . . And now the kitten is all healed up and walking around! O_O How awesome is that!?! We also used some homeopathic healing stuff a friend made.
Is that not disgusting!?! That is the exposed bone . . .

My hand and momma's stiching in the process.

Caramel apples and the movie enchanted!
My good friend Andrea and I went out together one of the night's I was home! We both went to a small Culinary school together and completed our internships at the Martha Washinton Inn in Abingdon, VA. While I was home she picked me up and we went to our old work, walked through the back kitchen door and surprised the two chefs who were working. Chance served us our meal and she is an AWESOME server!!! We both ordered steak (yum!!), thanks Todd!!! And then we left, went to Cracker Barrel for dessert, and then to the theatres for a late night movie, "Eagle Eye". It was so much fun and she is such a total sweetheart and even picked me up again and took me to the airport on my way back to Switzerland!
