Sunday's day trip to Gruyere, Bulle, Broc!!!

Sunday morning I met Lacey and her mother and brother at the Haubt Bahnhof and we made our way to Fribourg (definitely want to tour this place more) with Megan and McKensie and then took some buses to Gruyere where we went to the Cheese factory! There was an aweful smell in the train and Megan couldn't handle it, lol . . .
We all found "Cherry" the cow (our audio guide) highly amusing . . .

After our brief lunch at the tiny bahnhof, we went onto Bulle and walked around the town while waiting for our train to take us into Borc. Below is an old Chalet that is now a police headquarters! Lucky police . . .
Lol . . . this just cracked me up . . .
At Borc we checked out the Chocolate factory!!! The awesomest part of it was that it was free and they had all these chocolate samples!!! YUM! Tip for y'all, when you are here buy up the chocolate in the store because it is uber billig (cheap).
YUMMY!!!!! The various smells of chocolate . . .

Walking around Borc we found some "bleeding heart" flowers!! I love these!

And this was just too bizarre! I could not believe I saw this in the French Speaking part of Switzerland!

Here Lacey was making Mckensie mad much to the amusement of us all . . .

Last Thursday

During the evening we went to J's English class party. Lol, they talked in Swiss German the whole night except for the few songs they sang for the parents in English. ;-)

We had fun, played and had a picnic for 4 hours and then came back home to jump into bed. However, before bed I was told I was the worst aupair as far as cleaning went. Lol, I had to move some stuff in J's room to clean under the bed . . . I'll cut him some slack, it was a long day. ;-)

The park was the place where people can come to build houses and stuff out of junk and I think it was on of the coolest parks I've been too. Everything was so creative and it was all junk!!!

L'abri in Huemoz-sur-Ollon, Switzerland

2) By train. From Zurich or Geneva, you pass through Lausanne (perhaps changing trains in Lausanne) and on to Aigle (on route towards Brig). From Italy, take the train that enters Switzerland at Brig. You may have to change trains in Brig as some trains from Brig to Lausanne do not stop at Aigle. When you arrive in Aigle, buy a bus ticket for Huémoz (pronounced "Way-mo") in the train station or if the station is closed you can buy a ticket on the bus. The bus for Villars leaves on the side of the tracks away from the train station itself (where the old Migros used to be) and should be marked, "Aigle-Villars-Aigle". The ride is about 20 minutes. You should ask the driver to let you off at L'Abri - Chalet Bellevue. It is the second stop in Huémoz. The last bus leaves Aigle at 8:55 p.m.

Friday and Saturday

Friday I had class, messed around during the afternoon and early evening and then met some of the aupairs and some other people at the HB clock (Haubtbahnhof meeting area in Zurich) and we went out to this Indian bar to celebrate for Abbey. One of the Aupairs who is leaving to go back to New Zealand. The Indian bar was beautiful, the decorations were so pretty with all these sofa things on the floor. It was so packed we didn't stay long but decided to go to another bar, which is above a carwash and was so sophostocated. I felt like I should be wearing Prada!
Abbey, Megan
A new aupair (can't remember her name, feel so bad!)
The two french girls, one was from Canada and the other from France. Haha, they cracked my up when they were arguing who's French was the "correct" French.

At the indian bar I decided to buy a drink and ordered a Long Island Iced tea for myself and another gal and they were 22 francs each!?! I could not believe it!!! What in the world. Lol! Suffice it to say that even if I wanted to drink anything more I couldn't. I just had enough for the night train home.

While we were at the Car Wash, Bec told the singer that it was Meg's b-day (which wasn't the case, she just wanted to embarass her, lol) and the singer serenaded her!

At about midnight we all decided to be spontaneous and take Ethan's sailboat out on the Meilen lake and go swimming at 2am in the light rain. lol. So a few of us went to Meg's to borrow swimsuits and then we went swiming for an hour and then we all went our separate ways. I waited for my train at 4am at HB and then finally walked in my door at 4:40am, collapsing at 5am and sleeping super late the next morning.

Saturday night I went to Lacey's host family's house and met her aupair family who are lovely and their nieghbors with their wee bairn. I held her and it has been so long since I have held such a tiny one! :-) They make me nervous at that age but love it when they can be a bit rougher, like 1 1/2 or so. :-D She was so beautiful! We had a fantastic supper and just talked and visited and then back home for me by midnight! Yay! I then worked on laundry, took in my jeans, went to bed about 3 am and then was up getting ready at 7.45 for today's outing to Gruyere, but I'll talk about that later. ;-)

Pictures of my weekend 2 wochende ago. :-D These pictures are seriously out of order. :-(

Ang filling up her water bottle. That is the great thing about Switzerland. Wherever there is a water spout the water is drinkable and so good! I also learned on this trip to always bring toilet paper, food of some sort when traveling, and just be prepared for anything, lol.
The MONASTERY!!!

I just about died when I saw this!!! A Dixie/Yank bar!
A stained glass, depicting St. George? Am I wrong? Oh, for a keepsake I bought a charm of St. Andrew? The patron saint of travelers?
