Let us explore the Castle!!! Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles in Fussen/Schwangau, Deutschland
So for our trip to Fussen, Germany Nikki and the gals rented a car and we drove three hours to Germany to tour the Neuschwanstein Castle!!! This is the "disney" castle! ;-)
Love us!
Just before touring the castle!
HAHAHAHA!
Hohenschwangau castle which was the family's private resdience. Ludwig grew up in this house and when he was older he decided to build Neuschwanstein castle nearby (within walking distance) and only lived in the Neuschwanstein castle a short time before he died beside his doctor. The doctor perscribed him as mentally insane and they both died together in a shallow lake near Munich, Germany. Ludwig was a good swimmer. After his death, the family turned the castle into a museum. It is very extravagent and was his materpiece and dedication to the composer, Wagner. Many of the rooms are painted with scenes from his Operas and there was even a guest room for Wagner's personal use, however he died before the castle was ready. The castle is also only about half finished.
Hohenschwangau! Dani climbing!!

Loved this! Haha, confed/yank chess set in the gift shop
ehehe. Aupairs! Lol, Kate, Kylie, and Allyson! After touring the first castle we sat down, broke out the wine and snacks and enjoyed the sunshine in the castle garden area!
Walking to the Neuschwanstein castle (LONG walk but worth the climb!!)
Nikki, Dani, me, and Allyson
Neuschwanstein! My first glimpse! SOOO gorgeous!
Hahaha, so we were not supposed to take photos, but does that stop me!?! NO!!! So this is the ceiling in the throne room (never any thrones because Ludwig died). The room was modeled after a Bizantine Chapel and breathtaking! The whole castle was breathetaking!!
Where the thrones were intended!
A cave . . . yes there was a cave inside the castle . . . a man made cave . . . maybe the guy was insane, lol, was definitely cool!
Hehe, so here Nikki and are are in the ballroom and after the tourguide left I decided to grab her and we danced a vienese waltz!
So lovely!
